Another great biking day in beautiful Arkansas. First we biked through large horse farms and then sailed down Arkansas Hwy 31 to ride through rice and soybean fields. Our long time on the road is due, not only to the usual breaks during an 80 mile day; but to a Post Office stop in Bebee, a one hour wait at the pharmacy in Carlisle so Diane could fill a prescription, and a great burger dinner in Hazen before we traveled the last 1.5 mile to our hotel. The people in Arkansas certainly are friendly. A retired businessman in Carlisle struck up a conversation with us as Diane was taking a call, and he hopped on his bike to show us the way to the pharmacy and chatted with Rob while we waited, then biked with us a few blocks on the way out of town.
We are now biking through the Southern lowlands - elevation 198 feet above sea level.
Finally a burger that is as larger as advertised! The absolutely best burger on the trip at the Hurley House Cafe in Hazen, Arkansas.
Fully sated in our hotel room. Rob and Diane
