Selected Pics from the Trip to date

Hi All, Below are a Pic (or two) from each day of the trip through Sept 10th. (Diane smiles even when the riding isn't much fun. Certainly being a trooper.) Rob

Diane walks her bike to the end of the Cape Flattery Trail

Good-bye to the Pacific

Diane will have to explain this one.
Diane now fueled by lattes.
The tunnels on Hwy 14

The mighty Columbia River.

High plateau of eastern Oregon.
One of the many tough climbs that we (Rob) did not account for in planning the route.
Outside of Fossil, Oregon.
Diane makes friends and the bikes take a ride to the top of the "monster hill" outside of John Day, Oregon. (Then Diane's bike decided to show its displeasure by breaking a rear spoke on the next pass into Unity, Oregon)

Diane hit 42 miles per hour going down this pass.

Ok... so we (Rob) could  have picked a route without so much easterly wind.

You can't make this stuff up!

To beat the wind we have started to bike before dawn.  Sunrise in the highland desert of Idano.

In a truly wicked surprise, Diane's sister Judy and her husband Gene (who live in Iowa) catch up with us in Glenn's Ferry Idaho.

The wind continues to blow out of the east and into our faces. Diane's hanky is blowing pretty much straight out in a 20+ mph head wind.

Ok pics will appear in a more regular fashion (but the quality and taste of subjects may not improve). Rob
