We have had some challenges on this trip. But none that were insurmountable, thanks to friends and strangers. At Cape Flattery, Diane did get to touch the tree at the tip of the NW continental USA. The ride into Forks was taxing yet thrilling because it was our first day. Dinner was a grilled salmon steak from a fish that had been caught that morning. Great way to end the first day. Unfortunately that was the best meal of the trip so far.
Lodging at Amanda Park's Quinalt River Lodge the second night was fine, but dinner was an incredible disappointment -- the restaurant boasted a spectacular Mexican meal but it was not to be.
Thankfully, Aberdeen did not disappoint. The Guesthouse Inn (hot tub time) and the Matzalan made Diane's birthday special. Not to mention the relatively easy 44 mile ride.
We'll catch up on our blog posts in the next week, to provide more detail on the challenges. Until then, know that we are having a good ride and the motorists, particularly the truckers, have been exceedingly courteous and alert. And Diane has not fallen even once!!
